OPP cruiser among those damaged by erratic driver

Charges are pending after a pickup truck was driven erratically in Wasaga Beach, damaging several vehicles.

OPP Sergeant J.T. Folz says officers were called around 4 p.m. Saturday to help with a pickup truck that was being driven recklessly on Baseline Rd. S. in Tiny Township.

The vehicle was driven away at a high rate of speed and was later seen by officers in the Huronia West detachment. A number of crashes ensued, including one with an OPP cruiser. Police stopped the chase out of concern for public safety, but a short time later, the vehicle ended up in a ditch and the occupants ran from the scene.

The occupants of the truck were taken in custody. There were no injuries.

It is not known what charges the suspects may face.
