The outgoing warden of Grey County had a message of farewell at the final meeting of the council for the 2015 to 2018 term.
Warden Stewart Halliday and nine outgoing councillors received pins on Thursday to commemorate their years of service. Councillors Bob Pringle and Kevin Eccles have served the longest at 19 years and 18 years respectively.
The outgoing warden said the job gave him a special purpose, but as the electorate has spoken, he will now focus on his position as the newly elected President of the Grey Highlands Chamber of Commerce
He said some of the highlights include the new Grey County headquarters, which was achieved on budget and on time.
"Acting as a goodwill ambassador at many local functions was an important and enjoyable part of the job," said Halliday.
He's also proud of many accomplishments this year, including acquiring the former Sydenham School site for a future Skills Training, Trades, and Innovation Hub.
Halliday added that council addressed the changing requirements for long-term care by hiring Sienna Living to provide management services to our three long-term care facilities.
