Guns stolen in B&E near Seaforth

Huron County OPP, the Huron OPP Crime Unit, and the Mount Forest Forensic Identification Unit are investigating the theft of firearms near Seaforth.

At around 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, suspects entered a property on Hydro Line Road northwest of Seaforth, and entered a home through an unlocked garage door.

Once inside the home, the thieves ransacked the home and found keys to a pickup truck and a gun locker.

Ultimately the thieves stole seven long guns, some ammunition, a Panasonic camera, a small quantity of foreign currency along with the pickup truck. The total value of the stolen property is about $8,500.

Later that same night, police recovered the stolen pickup truck nearby on Division Line.

The remaining stolen property has not been recovered.
