Dutchmen beat Sugar Kings but still trail in the standings

Sean Kawalec and Cooper Walker each scored and set up another in the Kitchener Dutchmen's 4-1 win over Elmira.

Cooper Walker opened the scoring at 4:06 of the first. Chris Taylor made it 2-0 Kitchener with a goal just before the midway point of the opening frame.

Jeff Schrattner's power play goal late in the second made it a 3-0 game. Anthony Azzano scored on the power play to put the Sugar Kings on the board with less than two minues to go before the second intermission.

Kawalec's empty netter with 47 seconds left in regulation completed the scoring for the Dutchmen.

Lucas Patton made 29 saves in the win. Kitchener still trails the third place Sugar Kings by five points in the Midwestern Conference Standings.
