Huron County to rebrand West Coast promotion

Huron County has launched a new Tourism, Arts and Culture strategy.

County Communications and Marketing Officer Katie Marshall said the strategy is built around eight key goals the Economic Development teams want to improve upon.

One of those keys is to move the West Coast brand forward.

"This was done with overhauling the old website, making it more of a story-based, story-telling platform and helping to answer the question for tourists looking to come here, of why should I come to Huron County?" said Marshall.

Marshall added that another key component of the strategy involves taking advantage of digital marketing. She says tourism operators who don't have an online presence won't even be part of the conversation when people are planning trips.

"So we're putting together a series of workshops, in cooperation with Small Business Enterprise Centre and these workshops help tourism operators and businesses develop things like there Instagram presence, or any social media platform, digital marketing, it's such an important part of the tourism industry," said Marshall.
