Hawks double the Barons

Luken Van Pelt scored and set up two more in the Mitchell Hawks 4-2 win over Hanover.

Noah Calvert-Goetz opened the scoring early in the first putting Hanover on the board. Tyson Hall answered for the Hawks less than ten minutes later.

Jarrett Bogdon's power play goal late in the second would be the only scoring in the middle frame, putting the Hawks up 2-1 heading into the third.

Nathan Hall scored unassisted just over two minutes into the final frame to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead. Brock Phillips answered for Hanover on the power play less than a minute-and-a-half later. Van Pelt's goal on an empty Barons net put the game out of reach for Hanover with just 46 seconds left on the clock.

Bobby McLachlan earned the win with 33 saves. Jarron Thompson stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced.
