A special guest will be coming to Arthur next month.
NHL Hall of Famer and Toronto Maple Leafs great Darryl Sittler will be the guest speaker at the Arthur and District Chamber of Commerce 25th anniversary dinner. Sittler will share stories followed by questions, and an autograph and picture session.
Sittler still holds to record for most points in one NHL game with 10 scored against the Boston Bruins on February 7, 1976. Darryl scored six goals and had four assists, beating Rocket Richards previous record of eight points in a game shared with Bert Olmstead.
The roast beef dinner will be served by the Arthur Agricultural Society on Saturday, October 13, with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Arthur Community Centre. Entertainment will be supplied by local country singer Cara Smith. Tickets are 5$0, and there will be a number of door prizes.
For tickets call 519-848-2287, or for group tables call the Arthur Chamber Office at 519-848-5603.
