Bruce Grey Catholic Board releases EQAO results

The director of the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board said the latest EQAO results will help the board target the needs of students.

Jamie McKinnon said the 2017-2018 assessments by the Education Quality and Accountability Office are one of many ways they measure success at their schools.

The board's results are similar to the provincial average, and math scores are low.

52 per cent of Grade 3 students met the grade, compared to a 61% provincial average.

In Grade 6, 44 per cent of math students performed up to expectations, while the provincial average is 49%.

In Grade 9, 50 per cent of applied mathematics students met the goal, compared to 45 per cent province-wide.

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board results are as follows:

Grade 3 Reading 74% (Provincial Average 75%) Writing 73% (Provincial Average 72%) Mathematics 52% (Provincial Average 61%)
