Five extraordinary Grey County OPP officers were celebrated for their life-saving actions at the 2018 award ceremony in London this month.
Last March, OPP responded after a woman called 911 and reported a killing, then hung up. When they arrived, no one answered the door, but they saw movement inside. They entered and found a deceased body and a man holding a woman against her will. Grey County OPP Administrator, Sgt Heels was leading the officers.
A man is now facing homicide charges.
And on September 3, 2017, Grey County OPP responded to a possible overdose and started CPR on a female without vital signs. Constable Smith and Constable Parisi revived the patient.
On June 28, 2017, officers were dispatched to a disturbance call and then escorted a man back to his residence. But then Constable Birch and Constable Siekierzycki received a message that man planned to end his life. They returned to find the man in his garage without vital signs. They immediately began CPR and were able to revive the man.
