Grey County OPP solve underwear thefts

A 13-year-old Grey County boy is facing charges of theft, break and enter, and possession of stolen property after an investigation into missing women's undergarments.

Grey County Ontario Provincial Police investigated a series of thefts which occurred in the Township of Georgian Bluffs, Town of South Bruce Peninsula and the City of Owen Sound.

On July 30, OPP officers were dispatched to the Township of Georgian Bluffs for a break and enter into a residence where female's undergarments were the only items stolen. Investigators discovered that similar break-ins and thefts had occurred in the above-noted areas for approximately the past two years, but not all had been reported to police.

As a result of the investigation, on September 18, 2018, Grey County OPP arrested and charged a 13-year-old male with eight counts of theft under $5,000 section, three counts of break and enter dwelling house to commit indictable offence, possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 section, and mischief under $ 5,000.
