Hanover police make drug-related arrests over long weekend

The Hanover Police Service made a handful of drug-related arrests over the long weekend.

On Saturday, the Hanover Police Service obtained a search warrant in response to a police investigation into illegal activity at a residence in the 400 block of 12th Avenue. That same day, police arrived at the location in question and arrested five people for various drug offences.

The search conducted of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 1 pound of marijuana, 14 grams of cocaine and 32 grams of MDMA. Police also seized an assortment of drug paraphernalia and over $3000 in Canadian cash.

As a result of the investigation, three of those arrested were released. An 18-year-old Hanover man was charged with a number of offences including trafficking of a controlled substance. He's been held for a bail hearing.

A second man, a 19-year-old West Grey native, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. He has been released from police custody on a promise to appear. Both men charged have upcoming court dates in Walkerton.
