Artistic Director Gil Garratt says the show that's opening Tuesday night at the Blyth Festival is like nothing that's ever been seen on the Blyth stage before.
Garratt explains the show has been created and is performed by singer, songwriter Jane Miller and is the result of her musings over what it was that made her want to listen to sad songs when she was sad. As she investigated that further, she concluded that when she was sad, sad songs did indeed make her feel better and trying to find out why led to the creation of the show "These are the Songs I Sing When I'm Sad."
“She had created this show that is all about that and she tells stories from her own life, she sings some incredible numbers and plays them live at the piano and for that audience and she talks to the audience about what has gone on," says Garratt.
Garratt says the show starts tonight but only runs for seven performance and only 25 tickets will be sold for each show.
