North Perth Pedestrian Crossovers Project Wants Input

The Municipality of North Perth is looking for input on the location of pedestrian crossovers.

Triton Engineering recently completed a review of pedestrian crossovers in Listowel. The purpose of the review was to increase pedestrian mobility and safety, and establish consistent designs for the crosswalks and crossovers.

Based on the review and public input, upgrades to four existing pedestrian crossovers will begin this fall, with other locations being monitored for future need.

North Perth is now encouraging residents to visit "Your Say North Perth", the municipality’s new online engagement platform, to provide feedback on the pedestrian crossovers project.

The consultation also shares information on the rules for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers regarding pedestrian crossovers, including the new penalties for crossover-related offences.

Visit www.yoursaynorthperth.ca.

The municipality would also like input from residents about where they commonly cross, and where they believe a pedestrian crossover would be helpful.
