Saugeen Shores police have issued a public safety warning after seizing a substance that has tested positive for carfentanil.
The substance was seized in relation to a recent overdose, and Health Canada confirmed that carfentanil was present. Carfentanil is 100 times more toxic than fentanyl, and 10,000 times more toxic than morphine.
Carfentanil is being cut with drugs like heroin and fentanyl, and Saugeen Shores police warn that an extremely small amount can be deadly. If you suspect someone is suffering from an overdose, call emergency immediately.
