The annual Bruce Power Charity Golf Tournament raised $168,000 to support local health care.
Bruce Power, its suppliers, community partners, and local businesses joined together on August 10 for the annual tournament at the Saugeen Golf club.
The money will be split between the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. Proceeds from the tournament assist the foundations in purchasing life-saving equipment for the Kincardine and Southampton hospitals.
Mike Rencheck, Bruce Power’s president and CEO, stated, "The local hospital foundations allow our hospitals to stay at the forefront of rural health care and Bruce Power and our partners feel a strong sense of community responsibility to support health care in the region."
"Our employees are proud of the role we play in supporting health care locally, while at the same time supplying medical isotopes globally to keep hospitals clean and safe, fight the Zika virus, treat brain tumours, and assist in the fight against cancer,” he added.
The annual tournament has raised over $2-million for local health care over the past 17 years.
