Large Drug Seizure In Owen Sound

Owen Sound Police seized over $12,500. worth of fentanyl and crack cocaine during an investigation into a suspected out of town drug trafficker.

Just before 4pm yesterday, police arrested a man as he returned to his parked vehicle on 16th St. E.

They also executed a search warrant on 8th St. E. and found drugs and cash.

A 54-year-old male resident of the home was charged with possession of Fentanyl and released on a promise to appear.

A 38-year old Brampton man faces a list of charges including possession of a prohibited weapon, and trafficking.

Luan XIMINES, a 38-year-old male from Brampton, has been charged with: - Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking - Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking - Possession of Marihuana - Possession of proceeds of crime - Possession of a prohibited weapon - Possess ammunition while prohibited (3 counts) - Breach of probation order (2 counts)

Luan XIMINES appeared in court today (27 July 2018) in Owen Sound for a bail hearing. He was remanded into custody.

Acting Detective Sergeant Daniels said that “The investigation revealed that the only reason the accused was here in Owen Sound was to deal drugs. He is wanted by police for drug trafficking-related offences in two jurisdictions in western Canada. Fortunately, Detectives were able to quickly determine that the accused had arrived in Owen Sound and was dealing illicit drugs in the city. The actions of our Detectives prevented a significant quantity of Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine making it onto our streets”.
