UPDATE: Body Found In Mount Forest Ravine

Wellington County OPP confirm they have found human remains in the ravine near the main bridge in Mount Forest.

Police located the remains near the intersection of North Water and John St., and a coroner is trying to determine the identity and cause of death.     The remains were found on Tuesday, July 17 just after 11am as officers were engaged in an active investigation in the heavily wooded area.

The investigation is ongoing and police remain at the scene.

"We will have officers remain at the scene until we have a clear indication from the Coroner's Office that this is no longer necessary to hold as a crime scene," says Constable Joshua Cunningham. "We treat everything like this as a crime scene until we can rule it out."

Cunningham adds it is very early in the investigation.
