Minto Agrees To Replace Bridge On Walking Trail

Minto council has agreed to replace a bridge on a popular walking trail on the White’s Junction Trail.

The bridge was partially washed away during the flood of June 2017.

Council briefly considered removing the bridge at a cost of $20,000, rather than replacing it at a cost of $50,000 plus insurance coverage.

Acting Mayor Ron Faulkner said it would be foolish to lose the bridge and the use of that portion of the trail.

He said the municipality has regretted losing such facilities in the past.
