The Soo Win OHL Western Conference Title

Neither team wanted to concede defeat, pushing the game into double overtime but it was Sault Ste. Marie that would score, defeating Kitchener 4-3 and claiming the OHL Western Conference title.

Jack Kopacka scored the game winner four minutes into the second overtime. The Rangers Logan Stanley scored with 52 seconds left in regulation to force extra time.

The Greyhounds were led by Boris Katchouk with a pair of goals - one in the latter half of the first period and the other midway through the second.

Jonathan Yantsis and Rickard Hugg scored for Kitchener. Mario Culina put up a valiant fight in net for the Rangers with a 37 save performance.

The Greyhounds now face Hamilton in the J Ross Robertson Cup. Game 1 is Thursday in Sault. Ste. Marie.
