Chi-Cheemaun Ready For Another Ferry Season

With the warmer weather finally here to stay, a local ferry service is looking forward to another great year.

Kaleena Johnson, the manager of customer and media relations for the Owen Sound Transportation Company, says the Chi-Cheemaun will be on the water very soon.

"We leave the Owen Sound Harbour on Thursday, May 3 at noon hour for our annual spring cruise," she says. "That brings her from Owen Sound to Tobermory. Then, our operating season starts immediately the next day on Friday, May 4, with the first departure out of Tobermory at 8:50am."

Johnson notes that a number of feature cruises are taking place on the ship this year.

"Passengers can look forward to dinner and concert cruises that are available. All the details are available on our website and tickets are $70 per person, which includes a four-hour cruise, a three- course meal and a live concert, as well."

Some special events include a Canada Day concert event, as well as a Father's Day Brews Cruise with local craft breweries on the ship. Details are available by calling 1-800-265-3163 or by visiting ontarioferries.com.
