Man Brandishing Knife Arrested In Owen Sound Laundromat

An Owen Sound man appears in court Monday to face a weapons charge.

Police were called to a west side laundromat around 10pm Sunday after receiving calls about a man brandishing a knife.

Patrons reported that the man entered the laundromat and began waving a folding knife in a threatening manner while talking to himself.

Police found the man inside the business. He initially refused to comply with orders to drop his weapon, but was eventually taken into custody without incident.

A 33-year-old man was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday. He's charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and for breaching weapon conditions of an earlier court recognizance.
