One young woman was treated in hospital and a young man was arrested following an altercation outside a bar in downtown Owen Sound.
Officers on patrol responded to a disturbance in the 800-block of 2nd Ave. E at around 2:30am Sunday morning.
At that time, police found 15 to 20 people, many of whom were under the influence of alcohol, in a very agitated state.
A young woman was found lying on the sidewalk with an injury to her face. EMS transported the woman to hospital where she was treated for her injuries and later released.
Witnesses identified a man as the individual who had allegedly assaulted the woman. He was taken into custody without incident.
The 22-year-old man, formerly from Alberta, will appear in court on May 17 on the charge of assault causing bodily harm.
