OEB Selects EPCOR To Provide Natural Gas To Southern Bruce County

The Ontario Energy Board has released its decision on the natural gas distributor for Kincardine, Arran-Elderslie and Huron-Kinloss.

According to the board decision, the total ten-year revenue requirement for EPCOR’s project was $75.6 million, while the project proposed by Union Gas had a total ten-year-revenue requirement of $70.1 million.

However, EPCOR promised a lower cumulative 10-year revenue requirement per unit of volume, which was lower than Union Gas’s cumulative 10-year revenue requirement per unit of volume.

The next step is for EPCOR to file another application with the OEB, known as the "Leave to Construct".

In a news release, Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie was optimistic that EPCOR will file their Leave to Construct application as soon as possible.
