More Solar Installations In Minto

Minto’s solar program is moving forward.

The municipality’s first ground-mount solar installation will be on a vacant property at Greenbush on Hwy. 9, between Harriston and Clifford.

Mayor George Bridge says the land was originally donated by the Fulton family of Greenbush, and the family will be honoured with a plaque at that location.

To date, Minto council has approved a total of eight solar projects in partnership with Sunsaver 2. Most of the roof mounts are at locations such as the municipal office and arenas in Palmerston, Harriston and Clifford.

They are projected to generate up to $31,000 per year for Minto.

Sunsaver 2 also plans to install an electric vehicle charging station at the edge of the solar field at Greenbush.
