Home Care Ontario Hoping For Funding Boost From Province

The CEO of Home Care Ontario is encouraged by last week's Throne Speech by the provincial Liberals.

Sue VanderBent explains there was a signal that the Liberals intend to invest more in home care so that more seniors would have the option of staying in their own homes as long as possible.

VanderBent says the money they've asked for would fund 9-million more PSW visits and 5-million more nursing visits and more therapy visits. That would help the whole health care system by reducing the need for people having to go to the ER or the hospital.

VanderBent hopes there will be more specific information in the budget. She has also reached out to the Conservatives to find out what they're position is but hasn't heard back from them yet.
