Charges Dropped Against Firefighting Trainer

Charges of criminal negligence have been dropped against Terry Harrison, the man who ran a firefighting ice rescue course.

Adam Brunt, 30, of Clarington died in February 2015 when he became trapped under the ice in the Saugeen River near Hanover.

Police and the Labour Ministry did not lay charges after an investigation but another student in the course pursued action and that led to the criminal negligence causing death charge.

However, the Crown said it did not believe there was any reasonable possibility of a conviction.
