Police Make Drug Trafficking Arrest In Owen Sound

An Owen Sound man is facing drug trafficking charges after being arrested in the city's downtown core.

The Owen Sound Police Service says on Wednesday, police arrested the man without incident on 8th St. in connection with the trafficking of fentanyl, as well as other narcotics.

Police allege the man had fentanyl in powder form in his possession, as well as prescription pills believed to also contain trace amounts of fentanyl.

The 28-year-old Owen Sound man is now charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, assault with intent to resist arrest and several breaches of court orders. He is being held in custody.
