A strike notice has been issued by a group of Midwestern Ontario school bus drivers.
Unifor Local 4268 representing school bus drivers in Ontario has served First Student Canada with a strike notice effective as of 12:01am on Thursda, March 1. The strike notice applies to First Student Owen Sound/Wiarton and Port Elgin/Kincardine.
Additionally, the Owen Sound Transit system and the Bruce Power shuttle service could see a reduction in service if a deal can't be reached. The union is required to give a 72-hour strike notice, but they have given nearly double that time to ensure students, parents and users of those three systems can find alternate transportation.
