Lineup Announced For 2017 Music In The Fields In Lucknow

The Lucknow and District Kinsmen have announced the line-up for the ninth annual Music in the Fields festival, August 24 to 26 in Lucknow.

Headlining the Saturday stage will be international recording star Jake Owen. An ACM winner with six albums to his name, all of which reached the Top 10 on the country charts, Jake Owen will bring incredible energy with #1 songs such as “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”, “Alone with You”, “Beachin’”, “The One that Got Away”, “Anywhere with You”, and “American Country Love Song”.

The Saturday line-up will be rounded out with Canadian icon and multi Juno Award winner Tom Cochrane with Red Rider, and country artists The Washboard Union, River Town Saints and rising star Alee.

Friday, August 25 will feature Platinum-selling Canadian superstar Tim Hicks as the headliner. A two-time JUNO Awards nominee and CCMA Award winner who is known for his compelling stage presence, Hicks has released three albums, multiple Top 10 hits and already has five GOLD certified singles to go with the Platinum-certified breakout track “Get By”.

Joining Hicks on Friday will be Cold Creek County, performing hits, such as “Beer Weather”, “Till the Wheels Come Off” and London Ontario’s Genevieve Fisher.

Lucknow’s Music in the Fields will once again kick off the festival with the “Thursday Night Throw-Down” featuring Meghan Patrick. The Emerging Artist Showdown will be back, where today’s up and coming artists can showcase their talent on the Sepoy Saloon Side stage.

Much has changed for 2017, most importantly moving the venue to a new site. Still within the limits of Lucknow, the entire festival will be at “Graceland”, including all campsites, which means everyone will have easy access to the festival grounds.

Other new experiences include: additional drink selection from Craft breweries and wineries, which will augment the traditional Sepoy Saloon selections; and a new all-ages festival grounds.

We believe that Lucknow’s Music in the Fields is largely unique from many other festivals. Showcasing world-class country music artists with a cross-section of established and rising acts, we bring the stars to small-town Ontario. Not many villages can speak to the talent that has performed at Lucknow’s Music in the Fields, but it has developed into so much more than a music festival," says Marketing Director Steve Neeb. "Despite all of the changes, it remains the same intimate, family-friendly festival, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to charity."
