The reeve for Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh says there is no shortage of ideas for the former Petrie Park ball diamond in Port Albert.
Ben Van Diepenbeek explains the three-acre property came up for sale this summer and the Port Albert rec department asked the municipality to purchase the property on their behalf.
Then fundraisers will be held in the future to pay the municipality back.
Van Diepenbeek says the deal is done and they are working on how they want to use the property.
He says the property was a ball diamond, so that can continue and some people have also putting in some playground equipment and maybe a small pavilion.
