GOJHL Wrap: Brantford Gives up a Penalty Shot and the Game

Leamington 4 St. Marys 3 (OT)

Dalton Bancroft tied the game early in the third but the St. Marys Lincolns couldn't score in overtime and lost 4-3 to the Leamington Flyers.

Bryce O'Brien opened the scoring for the Flyers just before the midway point in the first. Matthew Zilke answered for the Lincolns ten minutes later.

Josh Pope-Ferguson and Cody Schnieder put the Flyers up 3-1 in the second but Zilke would score again before the period was over making it 3-2 heading into the final period.

Colton O'Brien scored the game winner for the Flyers.

Tristan Lewis put up a valiant effort in net for the Lincolns, stopping 48 shots over nearly 63 minutes of work. Connor Meyerink made just 14 saves for the Flyers.

Kitchener 3 Brantford 2 (2OT)

A penalty shot with just three seconds left in the game allowed the Dutchmen to score and tie the game and Kitchener when on to beat Brantford 3-2 in double overtime.

Kole Scott scored the game winner at 2:15 of the second overtime for the Dutchmen.

Jeff Schrattner scored the equalizer for Kitchener on a penalty shot with just three seconds left in the third period.

The 99ers went into the final period with a 1-0 lead thanks to Levi Tetrault who scored on the power play with just 35 seconds left in the second.

Sean Kawalec tied the game at 8:19 of the third. Louis Latta put the 99ers ahead again at 19:20 of what should have been the final frame.

Lucas Pfeil stopped 31 shots for the Dutchmen. Mat Woroniuk made 40 saves for the 99ers.
