Police in Hanover are on the lookout for a woman suspected of obtaining Fentanyl patches with a forged prescription.
Police learned that a woman called a Hanover pharmacy Tuesday evening, advising that a doctor had mixed up the street name on a narcotics prescription. The woman claimed that the prescription was supposed to be sent to a pharmacy on Hanover St. in Toronto, and she was willing to drive from Toronto to fill the prescription.
The woman arrived at the pharmacy and presented a prescription on official-looking letterhead for a significant quantity of Transdermal Fentanyl patches. She also had what turned out to be a fraudulent temporary Ontario driver’s licence.
The suspect is described as in her 30s, 5’5” tall, medium build, with dark hair in a ponytail. She appeared to have a newborn child with her.
Hanover police believe there may be similar incidents that occurred in other parts of Ontario that same day.
