Truck Thieves Ram Huron OPP Cruiser

Huron County OPP and neighbouring detachments are searching for a stolen pickup truck after a police cruiser was rammed.

Police say the owner started his vehicle Thursday morning at his farm on Gough Rd. south of Wroxeter, then left it unattended for a few moments.    That's when thieves pulled up the lane and two men got out of a white pick up with tinted windows before jumping in the truck.

The owner returned to see both pickups speed away.

The OPP spotted the stolen truck being driven in a dangerous manner southbound near Walton and again later on Morrison Line.

Officers followed it to a farm equipment dealership in Exeter and then a cruiser was rammed as the suspect escaped the property east into Perth County. It was last seen on Monkton Line 55 at about 9:25am.

The officer sustained minor injuries as was treated at a local hospital.

The stolen vehicle is described as a grey, 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 diesel with a black tonneau cover.     Police believe there will also be fresh damage on the right rear side of the pickup.
