The co-generation plant at the Stratford General Hospital is almost ready.
Andrew Williams, the CEO of the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance, says by converting the Stratford site from hydro to largely gas-fired energy, they'll save about half a million dollars a year.
Williams is reluctant to put an actual date on activating the plant.
"We're doing the final checks and obviously it's a major project so we've just gotta make sure that all the right pieces have come together, whether it's the equipment itself or co-ordination with the site and all of the switch-overs," he says. "All that's being worked on now and we should be ready to go shortly."
