GOJHL Wrap: Listowel Nearly Blows 3 Goal Lead with 3 Minutes left

Listowel nearly let a three goal lead slip, allowing two goals late in the third but held on to beat Brantford 3-2.

Ben VanOoteghem's goal with ten seconds left in the second would stand as the game winner. Blake Nichol scored midway through the first for the Cyclones. Caleb Warren added a power play goal less than six-and-a-half minutes into the second to put Listowel up 2-0.

Levi Tetrault scored with just over two minutes left in the game and Max Racicot put the 99ers within a goal with eight seconds left.

The Cyclones out shot the 99ers 45-17. They were led by Warren and VanOoteghem who each had a goal and an assist. Mitch Deelstra set up two for the Cyclones.

Evan Reinhart earned the win for Listowel. Mat Woroniuk took the loss for Brantford.

Guelph 2 Elmira 1

Liam Buckley's goal at 17:47 of the second would stand as the game winner in Guelph's 2-1 win over Elmira.

Connor LePage put the Hurricanes on the board early in the second period. Ethan Wiseman answered for the Sugar Kings before the midway point of the period.

Jet Greaves earned the win with 29 saves. Tyler Mazzocato stopped 21 shots for the Sugar Kings.
