Third Period Surge Gives Dutchmen the Win

Kitchener scored three times in the third period to beat Waterloo 5-2.

The Dutchmen were led by Liam Hurley with a pair of goals. Austin Gaboury set up both of Hurley's goals including his first of the game at 5:22 of the first period.

Alex Lycett scored both of the Siskins' goals in the latter half of the opening frame to give the Siskins a 2-1 lead.

Hurley tied the game with less than two minutes left in the second period.

Chris Taylor's power play goal at 8:38 of the third would stand as the game winner. Blair Derynck added insurance six minutes later. David Kiss scored short handed and unassisted on an empty Siskins net with less than three minutes left in the game.

Lucas Pfeil earned the win in net with 24 saves. Brett Miller took the loss for the Siskins, stopping 19 of 23 shots.
