The use of computers in Wellington County libraries has gone up by 21 percent in the first nine months of 2017, compared to the same period in 2016.
Wellington County Councillor David Anderson told Minto council this week that the role of libraries is changing as computers play an increasing part.
He pointed to Wellington libraries hosting displays of local arts and crafts, and the fact that many elderly and students without access to computers now make use of library computers.
Wellington County operates 14 libraries across the county.
