A tour through parts of Huron County to look at barn quilts proved so popular there's going to be another one this Thursday.
Central Huron Community Improvement Coordinator Angela Smith says she got the idea for a tour when she was painting her own barn quilt and wondered what some of the others looked like. It also occurred to her that others who couldn't or chose not drive might also be curious and obviously she was right because the bus tour last Tuesday was filled and the second tour this Thursday is already half full.
Smith says there isn't enough time in one day to tour the entire county so they left the Clinton Arena around 9:30, travelled to Auburn, then to Belgrave, Blyth, Brussels and Walton over to Winthop and back up highway 8, arriving back in Clinton around three.
Anyone interested in taking Thursday's trip can contact Angela Smith at the town hall, 482-3997, or buy a ticket at the front reception area of the town hall.
“So I thought when it was all over with I'd like to go for a drive and find them all and that expanded into the idea of a bus tour – that there might be folks around that would like to do the same thing that perhaps don't drive or just would prefer to do it as a group.”
“We left Clinton and meandered our way to Auburn. We were to Belgrave, Blyth. Brussels, Walton. We made it to Slabtown and Winthrop and up highway 8 back to Clinton.
