The recruitment leader for the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich has announce that six new doctors are coming to town.
Gwen Devereaux says the new recruits include four family physicians, one psychiatrist, and one general surgeon. Their addition brings the total complement in Goderich up to 27.
Devereaux says that means that many people who have had to go out of Goderich to have a family physician can now return to Goderich and the Maitland Valley Family Health Team.
She adds the addition of another psychiatrist and general surgeon further broadens the scope of services now available in the Goderich community.
According to Devereaux, "We are very excited about the fact that we not only have better access for our patients who potentially haven't had a family physician and now by adding another psychiatrist, more help with our psychiatric unit and our out-patient care."
