Brantford 5 Elmira 3
Brantford took a 1-0 lead in the first period and held off the Elmira Sugar Kings for a 5-3 win.
Jordan Stock struck twice for the 99ers and Jack Gaffney had a goal and as assist in the win.
Jeff Jordan and Matt MacKay gave the Sugar Kings the lead midway through the second but Stock scored on the power play to even the score going into the third.
Dante Felicetti put the 99ers ahead at 7:11 of the final frame and Stock's second goal just over a minute later would stand as the game winner. Kurtis Goodwin put the Sugar Kings within a point in the latter half of the third. Gaffney found the back of the net with just over two minutes left to give the 99ers insurance.
Brantford out shot Elmira 42-35.
Rhett Kimmel took the loss for the Sugar Kings, making 37 saves over 58:34 of work. Jesse Hodgson stopped 32 shots for Brantford.
The 99ers are still in last place in the league with a 4-10-0-1 recored. The Sugar Kings are in fourth, one point back of Waterloo with a 8-8-0-0 record.
St. Marys 3 Leamington 2 (OT)
Clayton Lewis scored three-and-a-half minutes into overtime to give the St. Marys Lincolns a 3-2 win over the Western Conference leading Leamington Flyers.
Leamington's Blake Johnson opened the scoring with just over a-minute-and-a-half left in the second period after a scoreless first period. Brody Smith answered for the Lincolns 35 seconds later to tie the game heading into the third.
Nick Jung scored shorthanded and unassisted just past the midway point in the third to give the Lincolns the lead. The Flyers tied it up a minute-and-43-seconds later.
Tristan Lewis kept the Lincolns in the game, making 44 saves while Noah Hedrick stopped 25 shots for the Flyers.
The Lincolns are now in 8th place in the Western Conference, one point up on basement-dwelling Komoka.
