New Pumper Truck Approved For Mount Forest Station

Wellington North has approved the purchase of a new pumper-rescue vehicle for the Mount Forest Fire Station.

It will replace a 1992 pumper which is past its 25-year life expectancy.

The new truck comes from a Quebec Company at a cost of $565,000, the lowest of five tenders.  It should be delivered by next September.

Wellington North will be donating the old pumper to Firefighters Without Borders.

Fire Chief Dave Guilbault said one of the Caribbean Islands which has recently been hard hit by hurricanes might be a good recipient for the old truck, valued at about $7,000.
