Police are still looking for a suspect that was involved in a chase Monday morning that stretched from Bluevale in Huron County to Listowel in Perth County.
Shortly before 6:00 am Wingham Police Service stopped a stolen Ford F-450 pickup truck close to Bluevale. That's when a male suspect assaulted a police officer then took off in a marked cruiser
The suspect went east on Hwy. 86 into Perth County. That’s where the police cruiser ended up crashing into a tree on Barber Ave. N in Listowel.
The suspect was then seen running eastbound on Binning St. E.
The suspect is described as a male, in his early 30's, with a thin build and short dark hair, wearing a black and red shirt.
“I would like to thank the public for providing valuable information to help us further our investigation into the search for this suspect. Although we have no information to believe there are any immediate safety concerns to the public we recommend citizens to always be aware of their surroundings and general safety,” says Perth County OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Rob Scott.
Helicopters, drones and a canine unit were all called in to help with the search that lasted through the morning and into the early afternoon on Monday.
