Cyclones Win; Dutchmen and Sugar Kings Lose

Listowel 2 Waterloo 1

Cullen Mercer was in on both of the Cyclones goals as Listowel beat Waterloo 2-1.

Mercer scored late in the first to put Listowel up 1-0 heading into the second. He then combined with Chayse Herrfort on the power play to set up Holdyn Lansink midway through the second.

Justin McCombs beat Max Wright before the period was over to spoil Wright's shut out bid. Brett Miller stopped 37 shots for the Siskins.

The Cyclones lead the Midwestern Conference at 6-1.

Brantford 4 Kitchener 3

Jordon Stock scored the game winner midway through the third to give the Brantford 99ers a 4-3 win over Kitchener.

Dante Felicetti led the 99ers with a goal and an assist. Other goal scorers: Hunter Dubecki and Brody Jennings.

Cameron Gratton earned the win in net with 35 saves. Lucas Pfeil stopped 26 shots for the Dutchmen.

The Dutchmen were led by Sean Kawalec with two goals and an assist.

Guelph 3 Elmira 2

Ryan Sparkes was in on all three of the Hurricanes goals, leading Guelph to a 3-2 win over Elmira.

Sparkes opened the scoring on the power play at 10:55 of the opening frame.

Less than three minutes later, Sparkes and Cameron Stokes set up Connor LePage to give the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead going into the second.

Ethan Skinner put the Sugar Kings on the board at 11:22 of the middle frame. Sparks answered less than two minutes later for Guelph. The Sugar Kings' Mason McMahon scored with 34 seconds left in the second.

There was no scoring in the third period.

Guelph is second in the Midwest, one point back of first place Listowel.
