Kincardine Fire Causes $100K Damage

An early morning fire in Kincardine caused about $100,000 damage to a home.

Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services were called to 585 Kennard Cres. at 3:10am Friday morning.

Firefighters searched the house in heavy smoke conditions and found the blaze in the basement.

Chief Kent Padfield says it was quickly brought under control, but not before causing considerable damage to the basement, and smoke damage throughout the house.

Six occupants of the home escaped without injury.

A cause is unknown at this time, but the fire is not considered suspicious.
