Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown was the guest speaker at Thursday's Stratford and area Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
Brown believes the colours of the electoral map of the province will change in the next election. He says the evidence supports his belief that his party has made gains in the urban centres that have kept the Liberals in power in the last two provincial elections.
He acknowledges the urban centres are still going to be a battle, but says anyone who pays a Hydro bill -- whether it be in an urban or rural community -- has had enough.
Brown adds while the cost of energy is an area where the Liberals are very vulnerable, it's only one of several including the gas plant trials and several other issues of integrity and accountability.
Brown says the Liberals are also vulnerable in their handling of health care where he says hundreds of thousands of dollars are being directed away from the front lines towards administration.
"We just had a by-election in the heart of Toronto, in Scarborough -Rouge River, the most diverse riding in Toronto, a riding they've held for decades and won by landslide margins... and we won there, so I think we've shown we can win in the city of Toronto and even recent polls in Toronto showing the PCs leading," he says.
