A new analysis suggests a higher minimum wage would put 26% of jobs at risk in Grey County.
The study from the Canadian Centre for Economic Analysis suggests the reforms will put 185,000 jobs at risk, and add $23-billion to business costs in the first two years.
Owen Sound Chamber of Commerce CEO Peter Reesor says the Fair Workplaces Better Jobs Act would create economic uncertainty.
The study also says that the cost of goods and services will increase about $100 a month, or $1,300 a year.
The study also concludes the act would cost the Ontario government $440-million in new costs, and municipalities would have to pay $500-million more in wages.
The amendments to the first reading of Bill 148 are due on Wednesday.
