The Perth-Huron United Way's Social Research and Planning Council has a new Director. Susanna Reid has been a planner with Huron County for thirteen years and suggests the roles are not entirely different. Reid explains the role of the planner is to recognize and protect the public good and that includes supporting the development of the local economy, protecting the environment and improving the social well-being of the community. Reid says the projects she's been involved with, like the Water Protection Steering Committee, are all about supporting that sustainable development. Reid says she's looking forward to working on social planning with the team at the Social Research and Planning Council. Reid adds the leadership of the Social Research and Planning Council is recognized across both counties for addressing the needs of their communities.
Reid assumed her position as Director of the Social Research and Planning Council earlier this month.
