Gun Missing After Break And Enter Near Wingham

Police are looking for suspects after a UTV vehicle and a .22 calibre rifle were stolen from a shed northwest of Wingham.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Thursday afternoon, officers responded to a farm property on on Glenannon Rd. after an unknown number of suspects broke into an insecure drive shed, and stolen the vehicle and the unloaded rifle.  Police say the UTV was parked with the keys in the vehicle.

The break in occurred sometime between 10pm on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday, according to police.

The UTV was later located at around 8pm behind a business in Brussels.  The vehicle was spray painted while, but otherwise in good condition. However, the stolen rifle was not recovered.

The firearm is described as a 2010 Savage semi-automatic, .22 calibre rifle, green and black camouflage colour.  The rifle is valued at around $300.
