Huron County Announces Acting CAO

Huron County has an Acting CAO for six months.

Council council passed a motion at Wednesday's meeting naming Cultural Services Director Meghan Wark as the Acting CAO.

Current CAO Brenda Orchard is leaving after the August 2 council meeting to accept a CAO's position in Eastern Ontario.

Wark says her job for the next six months will be to oversee the implementation of the strategic plan that council recently created and she expects there will be an update of that plan at the August 2 council meeting.   From there, she says her job will be to make sure each department meets the targets set out in that plan by the time this council's term is up.

Wark says whether or not this becomes a permanent appointment will depend entirely on council, but her focus will be on the implementation of the strategic plan.

Wark adds she will continue to be responsible for Cultural Services, and she's very lucky to have a staff that will ensure the department is functioning as it should be.
