Huron County Council has approved a major maintenance job at the county's two seniors homes south of Clinton and in Brussels.
CAO Brenda Orchard explains there have recently been leaks in the water pipes at Huronview and Huronlea.
It was explained to council there are certain standards that the seniors homes are expected to meet and the buildings are both more than 25 years old it's reasonable to assume there will be more leaks.
Orchard points out, despite their age there is still a lot of life left in both buildings so it makes sense to replace the entire system in both buildings rather than to continue to scramble to repair leaks as they occur.
